Questions and Queries / Someone to do brake line work?
September 02, 2008, 07:24:10 AM
OK might have a go with copper and see how they come out then. Is this copper or copper/nickel you're talking about as pretty sure the piping I've got is just copper.

There was a coil on it previously so I'll remember to do that again thanks.

Here are a couple of pics in its current state, as you can see I'm doing the wirign at the moment which is a right , not sure if they need scaling down or how to do that so hope they are ok!

Really need making up I think as the old ones are slightly different at the end as the drum brake flex hoses come from the opposite direction and at the master cylinder end the new master cylinder has different thread holes. Also as they are not original discs the pre made brake lines for sale aren't quite right.

I have got the kit for doing copper lines but was led to believe you shouldn't use copper as it will crack? I honestly don't know a whole load about brakes so had thought I'd bite the bullet and pay someone else to do it if possible as it needs to be right. I would think that for someone who knows what they are doing and with the fenders etc off at the moment it shouldn't be too big a job

It was a '69 which I have now painted (not brilliantly, in cellulose, in my garage!). I will try and get a pic or 2 up in a bit for anyone who's interested.

Hi all, long time since I've been on here but the mustang is now going back together having been painted. I need someone to come and plumb in my new master cylinder and front discs as I can't do it myself and guess it should be done properly! Does anyone know of a garage or mechanic who could come to Woburn and do the brake lines? Obviously I can't take the car to them as it's in bits.

Thanks a lot for any help,
Angus
