. they seem to come up with new rules every couple of years , just so they can sell more copies of the iee wiring regs and more courses

most sparks  shoved a phase up the neutral when they wired it wrong , twas dead easy to do.........invertors make a lovely bang

yup , looks that way .  they seem to run 240v household and 110v for everything else......weird

Harmonization in the eu , that caused some fun when it came in .

good page on it

I think the only difference is the frequency, we're on 240v at 50 Hz, where I believe them to be on 240v 60 Hz.

I suppose I was disappointed, as I thought they managed to get the battery range to something like 200 miles as opposed to the 40-60 estimated in the video.

I reckon they just might win some folks over from the Nissan, just hope it doesn't flop on them.

110/120 V 60hz    usa and canada......i think

maybe i'm lucky . had a 79 lotus esprit for Ten years and that was good as gold as well . had to tinker with it in and out , but no worse than that .

i still think that with any make of car , you get good ones and bad ones . it takes a handful of bad cars to sully the reputation of a decent enough vehicle .

same with Alfa's . great cars with real heart and soul , but someones aunts brothers mothers toenail clippings had problems with one when the moon was full and there nextdoor neighbours dog was in heat....so therefore they are all crap.....well you know what i mean :)

it was good but it was no vietnam

I love the way they just happen upon a workshop that has all the right bits for modifying the cars

Still at least they proved one thing

That the Buick derived 3.5 litre V8 is a very reliable engine

It only became unreliable when the Land Rover Engineers overbored it 3.9 litres and above

Had a 3.9 m reg discovery for a couple of years now , never a moments trouble with it , but then it is a rangey in drag .

My brother in law has the newer shape one and that is a money pit

will get some on it this summer . twil increase the value of it by at least a fahsand.........maybe
#14
of the four i have had , this one is the best .  ok it's not shiney or has the more desireable rpo codes , but it has next to no structual corrosion and everything works as it should......even the hatch pulldown
#15
yup . in for mot at the end of jan with any luck

Today is the first day it's been warm enough to do stuff on the car , so for those of you who may ( or may not ) be interested , this is how it went .

front brakes were sticky . strip and free up the pistons , working fine now

adjust steering box , working fine .

fix fog lamp....bulb had fallen out

engine was showing fault code 36 , turned out to be an air leak at the MAF and dirty contacts on the burn off relay . all sorted

took it for a toodle around the block and everything is groovy . engine pulls perfectly and the gearbox shifts as it should . stops and steers fine .

tomorrow is sort out the headlamps ( dirty contacts )  and clean the interior .

The exhaust needs sorting and it just so happens that i have a next to new system knocking around that i bought for the 83 , so that will be going on the camaro .

treated myself to this for the 83 T/a  :)

Gator said you were looking at a T/A , did you get it in the end ?

Yeah I did, proper Bandit one too, well chuffed but I also got a Merc Cyclone from the same bloke.

Fjeldy, Believe it or not people do actually use them (well not nice ones like that) in the country. We dont live in a built up area and are 10 mins drive to our neighbour.

Hey Art, loving it although this year has been a struggle but next year should be much better.
Hows you and yours?

awesome mate , what's it like ?   do you have any pics ?    Steve and me are jealous as hell
