We when got home from the Lan last night we found that Freddie the Hamster had passed away during the day

We got her back in March 2008. She was 3 months old and in the adoption tanks in Pets at home.
She had been named Freida by her previous family and been taken back to the store as they said she was 'Nervous and nippy'

One the way home we renamed her Freddie and for the next 2 weeks I got her out every night to get her used to people again.

Believe the previous family probably had young kids who kept waking her up during the day - and possibly not handling her right and dropping her.

Freddie was never the brightest spark - but she def had no fear of heights and falling.
Even when she wasn't well over this past xmas she was still climbing across the top of her cage and falling down again.

She was always up around 8-9 each night and loved rolling around in her ball. She loved going straight into the kitchen when we lived in Oldbrook.

Freddie even didn't mind dogs. At the housewarming in Downhead park Poppy was trying to say hello so Freddie bit her nose

In Nov last year Freddie seemed to take a turn for the worse and we really thought she was going to pass away then - all over christmas she was very thin and cold. Then in Feb she seemed to perk up again.
We seemed to have had our first hibernating hamster.
Although Freddie's ears never seemed to perk up again (Which used to be a good way of telling how wake she was) she def was still full of life till the end.
On Thursday evening Freddie was quite happily moving her large food bowl around.

Freddie is now buried beside one of the roses - Tequila Sunrise

Freddie - you will be missed
