Imaging that in the snow

It's FWD.

No, that's actually a good thing.

I brought my first Eldo ('85 FWD) specifically for winter use . . . while most of the other road users were all over the place my heavy-nosed Eldo was sure footed in the snow.
The '92 Eldo I had was excellent in the really bad snow we had last winter, too so it made sense going for another FWD . . . . of course it helps that it's a Cadillac.

The almost Jelly-like Suspension probably helps in the snow too.

Amazing value for money

I was going to say pig ugly, but in fact it's that ugly ( colour & shape ) that it's cool

I'd say a lot of that was down to not using a low gear and over-reving - for the majority of RWD cars anyway

But, just a bit less to think about in FWD I agree.

Well it's an Engineering thing

Wheel rotation in a RWD vehicle pushes the weight of the car up reducing traction, but FWD pulls the weight of the car/engine down increasing traction, plus front wheel drive cars generally also have the weight of the engine/gearbox over the driven wheels

philoldsmobile

plus with no power going to them, there is little insentive for the rear wheels to do anything more than follow the fronts.

RWD utterly sucks in the snow compaired to FWD.

Cunning Plan

Yah, I agree that FWD is logically better than RWD in snow, but I'm just saying that I think the issue of RWD in snow was exaggerated by people over-reving their powerful RWD BMWs, instead of using a different gear and taking it easy and thinking about it.

It certainly does look in great condition for that amount of money.
Does look slightly like a dealer/pimp for OAPs, but definitely cool.

I'll have to fish-out the hand book with the original owner's name on it . . . it's quite comical.
