Artist Mickey Hart created this Chevy Camaro American Pride on commission from GM as a one-off for its show car division.

OK I'm not 100% sold on the overall look, but the airbrush artistry is simply stunning
It only took 350 hours of air brushing

Come on Rocky how hard can it be

Andy

Why is the only thing America/ Americans seem to take pride in, is different machines for killing people?

What about other things the Americans have done in this world? Jack Daniels...

Rocky

Not the best airbrush work I have seen but it is impressive to cover a whole car.
Air brushing cars is not my thing though but each to their own

Andy

It does remind me of the S10 that did the rounds on eBay a few years ago. Had something similar but was a bunch of F-18s coming off the tailgate with and Eagle and 'Don't Tread on Me'. Imagine that must be great fun driving it round some communities...

Roadkill

Excellent artwork but utterly pointless.

This subject does make it appear that way doesn't it ?

Makes me chuckle at the choice of subjects tp represent  "American Pride" . . . . . There appears to be scenes depicting Vietnam in there . . . . . a long and drawn out affair with a vastly (on paper) inferior enemy hardly strikes me as a proud moment.

seems to have been working for them ever since !!

Vietnam have millions suffering with the effects of dioxin poisoning . . . .

The U.S military are happy to deny any connection with their extensive defoliant-related  (some of with contain dioxin) bombing in the region.

Funny that.

Tens of thousands of civilians died as a direct result of US bombing, too.

Now I know that no war is "clean" and "ideal" - but being "proud" of such a disaster is way down the other end of the spectrum.

I would agree with Andy and suggest maybe the artist could've focused on America's triumph in space exploration, aviation, science (hell, even sport) or any number of other things.

EDIT.

Having met and spoke to many Americans they seem to be divided into two distinct groups (as many Britons do, too) -

Patriots and Flag-waving idiots.

Patriots are the truly proud people, normally quietly reserved.

The flag wavers are the often under-educated trash who use the term "Pride" to justify whatever the hell they want.

The later is why America, unfortunately, gets such a bad name for itself.

There isn't enough agreement in the world to state how much I agree, I've met some truly fantastic people in America, their warmth, kindness and personality was quite spectacular, however, sadly its not these people that TV and the internet flock to.

on the other end of the spectrum, the 'Americans' shown in the press sadly do exist in considerable numbers, and we lap it up.... T.V programmes like my super sweet 16 and Jersey Shore are a perfect example.
