Cunning Plan

Just bought a second-hand VW Polo for my girlfriend and although it is in good condition, there are a few scratches and the paint could do with a really good polish.

Any recommendations?

I might end up doing it, but there is a long-ish scratch on the bonnet that I would like repaired and I don't think T-Cut will repair it

Plus the car is black and any mistakes will show up easily.

Spot on

That's where you went wrong ?

the car is black

When I bought my Camaro new the garage offered me £1k off if I took a black one they had in stock

After my first black car years before, I vowed to never own another one, it shows the slightest mark or dent, red on the other hand isn't my favorite colour, but it hides, chips, scratches and minor dents if it's shiny

Rosa's red Panda which has been our town car for 7 years is covered in Supermarket dings, dents, scratches and scuffs. But people say it looks like new

Cunning Plan

Very true, but they do look good if they are in good condition themselves.

It was that or the blue version VW do for that model and marque. The only other colour is silver and I dislike boring silver cars.

check out my saleen project thread, there are loads of pics of the guy detailing my car and also his contact details at the bottom.  He's only in Toddington and is WELL worth the drive.  He's currently offering 20% off too!!

My Saleen looks better than brand new!!

black cars are STUNNING when they're machine polished... This same guy does lots of range rovers, Porsches etc.  When they are finished they look like mirrors...

Thanks Edge, I might try him although I would prefer a mobile detailer that can come to me.

red cars do tend to fade ...
had a red BM...
but it wanted to go pink every few months...

its alright if your into polishing ... that went after a year..

its surprising how few car valeters there are about,
maybe its just too expensive...
