Advise Needed - Good High-speed Video Camera

I'm hoping some of our resident photography experts here can help me with this:

From my weekend away playing with Bajas, I was messing around with the HSV setting on my Compact Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 which only comes out at very low resolution, but looks like this when aimed @ my truck:

What i'm looking for is some advise if I sell this (virtually new and excellent)compact camera and buy an SLR type thing that can do HSV stuff like this at a resolution that you can then edit & actually use, 720p as a minimum.

some quick googling & youtubing shows up a Casio EX-F1 which are about £600 used??

I really enjoyed playing around with this @ the weekend & is something i'd like i reckon.  Do Go-Pro's do HSV ?

Not a clue on HSV, though.

I know my camera does it . . Think it's 720p but it's not something i've used, yet.

Nah, don't think they do, and even if they did their wide angle lense wouldn't be beat suited for it.

Ian Blackett the resident photographer at the RWYB now offers high speed video recording so you can review your run and tune the car to what the video is showing.

I think he uses a Canon 7D with a prime lense. I guess you don't have to go to that extreme with a prime but for recording from a distance a good telephoto would be a good investment.
