so after 1 hr of ''fishing'' i had ten of these ugly likkle buggers

the american signal crayfish..

the local rivers are alive with them,
and they have no doubt killed of the native white clawed cray fish,
they have to be removed if accidentally caught ,

although you can get a free license from the environment agency to set traps for them ,
which i would consider it if i lived within walking distance of the river

so after a day resting in fresh water,
they paid a 3 minute visit to a pot of boiling water and came out all suntanned ...
