WASHINGTON, D.C. — Cadillac is stepping up its performance game, with plans for ultratuner versions of the CTS-V, STS-V and XLR-V, as well as the possibility of a new "Super V" lineup.

"We are considering tuner versions of the Vs and working with an outside company, like Mercedes does with Brabus or Ford does with Saleen,"

Cadillac has not chosen a tuning house yet, but Howell said he would be inclined to select a "more European-oriented" company. "We don't want too much of a muscle-car image," he said. "Brabus is a possibility. McLaren is a possibility, as well as Alpina, Lorinser and Dinan.

Sweet.

Can only be good for Caddy.

It's certainly worked for BMW / Mercedes . . . etc . . .

For sure.

If they do it right it could change their image in Europe.
Rememebr how everyone laughed at Volvos.  The T5 versions moved their image towards performance instead of just safety.

The V-series Caddy's are already very good.
On Top Gear Clarkson tested the CTS-V by having a race around their track with a V8 Audi Quattro 4x4 thingy to try and make fun of Cadillacs eruopean handling claim.  The Audi couldn't get past the Caddy in the bends and on the straights was left for dead by the 5.7L 400BHP Vette engined Caddy.
The STS-V is a 4.4L version of the Northstar but with a Supercharger bolted to it.  469BHP.

Caddy must be serious about is there have been spy shots of a 700BHP STS-SuperV at the Nurburgring.

Crazy thought isn't it?!

Apparentley it's been turning in some silly laptimes.

The hood scoop (which I doubt would appear on a produciton one) makes it look very serious!
