It tries to KILL YOU !!!

She's been slowly developing a "bogging" problem, a flat spot when trying to accelerate.
Up until now she ONLY did it in the evening on the way home from work so I learnt to be careful.
(A couple of times I had Cars/Vans braking cause she was happy to creap onto the round-a-bout, but not any further . . )

Anyway.

Completely unexpectantly she did it this morning.

Pulling out of a junction with "enough" time, a Ford Ka nearly re-shaped my passenger door.
(sorry)

Then, knowing she was having a fit, before pulling onto the main road I gave her a good rev, dropped her right down to first then went . . . . . . . . . . . . about 4 yards.

Right in the middle of the road she decided she needed a rest . . . .

Me, by now panicing, tried to rev the bitch into submission.

Eventually getting some activity (not before potentially causing a pile-up) I pulled off.

I took that bitch upto and past Red line on every Gear Change hoping the engine would go "Pop".

Alas, it didn't, so my misery continues . . . . .

Well you could fix it or scrap it rather than die or cause someone elses death!!!

Plugs? leads? maybe injectors?

I doubt plugs or leads.

Could be injectors I suppose . . .

Incursus

Plugs and lead are the easyest to inspect. I know someone selling an old skoda Diesel for £400.

Solid car, would have to move quick tho cos he part ex's it in just over a week.  If I had the money I'd jump at it to replace the Renault

10,000 since its last service, due a cam belt change and front brakes might need doing in the near future.

leads are new.

it occasionaly had a very slight bog when i had it (its obviously got much worse) the only two culprits i could think of were throttle body base gasket and o2 sensor..

Bah, Escorts live forever!

Worst case you go down the scrappy and yank a part off a car for a fiver.
Better than 400 sheets on an eastern block "car".

If it's had plugs and leads could try the O2 sensor.
Chances are it's a sensor or ignition problem.

Worst case if you don't like electrics, I've got a brand new webber carb you could fit (belongs on a 1.6CVH)

Just wait 'til the oil drops off the end off the dipstick, Mate, then stick another 3 litres of the finest £3 a galon oil available.

Seriously, though, she's been O.K today . . . . I'll be keeping her 'til the Tax/m.o.t and insurance run out . . . . . . .Which, convieniently enough is all within about a month of each other - around August time.
