Ryan would it have cost more than the price of a new car to fix up your old 3rd gen and continue using that as your daily?

depends, more than a rot-box fiesta or something like that? Yes

More than the Regals? No.
But there is the issue of insurance for 2 3rd gens which (not that i've looked into it) might be a problem. especially as I have just dropped the Bar job as a Kick up the ar$e to get myself a better proper job!

Keep shopping around for insurance. I got my best quote (for 2x 79s) on the 6th company, and it saved me a couple of hundred on the others.

I'll have to see how the finances go TBH, i'm not sure atm whether i'll be able to afford another car for winter this year

the IROC might have to suffer a winter if I can't get anything sorted...
