Just been reading July's issue of What Car ( 50p from the magazine man on Bovingdon Market ) and there's a league table on the number of fixed speed cameras :

Bedfordshire & Luton = 80.

Northamptonshire = 77.

Buckinghamshire = Not Listed

Hertfordshire = 31.

London = 320.

Greater Manchester = 154.

Cheshire = 32.

Mid & South Wales = 377

I'm moving to Dumfries & Galloway = 23

NB : Total number of fixed Police Cash Machines now = 4313

Just counted 85 in Bucks from the Camera Partnership website

5 in Bletchley !

Thought northamptonshire would have had more than that as there must be at least 50 in northampton town center

We're just now using red light cameras to catch red light runners here in the States. Mainly in high incident areas. If we had speed cameras we'd be screwed.

And the light runner cameras AND the mobile guys.. crazy

Road angels all round then..??  - in the old days the police had to catch you the oldfashoned way, following you and seeing you speed.. but now technology moved on to what it is now we might as well upgrade our technology to make it equal, not to outsmart the police, but to help us see 'black-spots'..  esp moble units on bridges - how unfair is that!!

From my understanding the bulk of roads in Spain are so decrepid that you couldn't achieve speeds in excess of 30mph anyway . . . . .
