Any one else hear it early this morning, just after 6am.
woke, me felt the explosion as well, sounded like thunder on steroids.

Just read on BBC news site it was an oil depot in Hemel Hempstead

Didn't hear or feel it, but I can see the cloud from here.

Used to cut through by Buncefield Depot when I lived in Leighton Buzzard to get on the M1 going south.

Is everyone OK who lives down that way?

Sammy-Lou's Dad works for Total-Butler . . . . . . I'm guessing he'll be getting a fair few phone calls over the next few days.

They're saying that the site won't be accessible 'til way into January . . .

Yup, I know the route, I work in Leighton and go that way sometimes too . . .

drove past it today - wierd sight (only saw the smoke)

i really cant describe it - it was a little like that solar eclipse a few years ago..

Sammy Lou

it was one of the depots that my Dad works for, he has had none stop phone calls all day! they reckon that no one will be able to get on site for at least ten days, and there could be fuel shortages as that depot supplies most of the fuel to this part of England!
