According to recent info I've found my new tri-carb manifold (Edelbrock CD-693) needs 3x Holley 94's.

But what other options are there ?

Also what's the best carbs suitable ?

I've read that the (Holley) 94's where better carbs then the (Stromberg) 97's but Brand new (improved) 97's are available whereas new 94's are not.
So go for new 97's for better reliability (but more expense) or go for 94's which will be cheaper, supposed to be better but may not be as reliable ?

?

But are there others which would suit the 3-bolt arrangement ?

Prices I've found, so far, FYI -

Recon Holley 94 - $200 + $75 core charge = $275 each = $825
Recon Stromberg 97 - $215 + $150 core charge = $365 each = $1,095

Or

New 97's @ $397 each = $1,191

Then there's linkages -

3x2BBL, Progressive for Holley 94 (S/S) - $135

My head hurts.

Well if it were me, i would go old skool injection. Combine the retro manifold with hilborn mechanical injection for a total hot looking setup

$575 each -

This basic injector unit is designed for a single cylinder engine. For each additional cylinder, another unit is added without the metering valve. Thus, it is possible to change engine configurations at a minimum cost.

That could get real expensive.

Only a little more than new 97's and you can find these on ebay

you could also ebay for tri power injection as i know pontiac used this on its early 60's cars so am guessin other GM divisions did the same

Never seen one when searching before . . . . not that the idea of injection particularly excites me.

Just something a little different, I always thought tripower setups made more power but talking to andy who just did a nostalgia tripower the increases are very small about 15hp on a 400 ci

Yep.

The 4BBL 365ci puts out 310bhp, compared to 325 bhp Tri-power.

The 4 BBL 390ci puts out 325bhp (from memory), compared to 345bhp Tri-power.

Apparently the throttle response is much smoother and improved.

Plus Tri-power looks as cool as F**k !

Mind you my manifold is after market so should be better still . . .

That it does mate, have to agree on that one, hence the hilborn injection would take it to the next level in my opinion.

The next motor i build will have the LOG style manifold and 6 throttle boddies, i know what im looking for and its a 1955 pontiac delivery sedan, they were only made in canada and shared the chevy body so are slightly smaller
