a cheap yank will allways have its problems, like my trofeo, it's ok now but it took a good while to get it right... not much expense but that's because i did all the work myself.

Thats the other thing, if you dont have the space to work on the car it can be a PITA especially for you city boys

yeah, i had to take the truck to my Godfather's place in the country and use his garage for the re-paint...

it only just fit after i dismanteled the electric door mechanism and deflated the front tyres (spare wheels anyway)

BUT.. saying that.. I rebuilt the top end of the engine while perched on the radiator, foot on each frame rail sitting under the hood... right there on the street where that first picture was taken...

Same went for fabricating the whole custom exhaust system, and for that matter fabbing the roll cage and fitting the lights.  And actually, fitting those bastid long tube headers....

So... lots can actually be done by the road side, its just having space o get round the car and a complete disregard for safety

I reckon a mid-late 80's Caddy is the way.

You'd be looking at a 4.1-4.5 V8 motor, lots of toys, although may have some issues.

The motors' and tranny's are normally near faultless in my info gathering as I was considering one as an every dayer before my annual mileage increased.

well, ill be doing something pointless like 2000 a year.

A mechsnically sound one would be cool
