In a train
Gotta hand it to our Snail eating French friends, they have just broken the world train speed record at 356mph or 574kph

Sort of puts our dirty, late , slow , crashing trains down a peg or two doesn't it

A French high-speed train (TGV) has smashed the world record for a train on conventional rails by a big margin, reaching 574.8km/h (356mph).

The previous TGV record was 515km/h (320mph), set in 1990.

Note the Japenese trains are the Maglux ones without wheels - cheats !

Rob

Alstom held a competition at work to be on the train at the time.

Still wouldn't use it myself as that would involve going to France

Shame all our tracks are too old & bendy... thats my impression anyway, however we have a couple of members on here in much better positions to comment on that than I am...

imagine going to Euston at over 350mph!
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...
