Although if I remember right, you gave up a decent paying job.

Bummer about the gearbox.
How much would a new one cost?

Similar would be $1900 . . . . . . that doesn't include shipping etc . . .

Also you can bet your Ass i'd need different mounts/brackets etc . . . .

Least I know mine fits . . .

Pod

Can you get new T5's or TKO gearboxes from anywhere over here?
That will be on my shopping list at some point, although hopefully not for a while yet.

I'd guess it's be easier for Fords as they put them in Cossies . . . . The place that are re-conning mine can supply new but I'd guess Mega-££££'s.

Roadkill

Well.

I've bitten the bullet and told them to go ahead with the rebuild.

£625+vat = £735 !!!

But all this work has obviously, effectively changed my Camaro from a "Scrapper" to a healthy example . . . . and likely to have more then tripled its value.

Just a bit.

Least I got my moneys worth out of all the gears.

Titsy

Funny, because when we inspected it there were no signs of damage...

Don't forget to bung a new clutch whilst the box is out

No way . . . it's a Center Force Drag clutch in there . . It'll be run til it goes !

The damage was bent input and output shafts . . . I don't if you'd've noticed them TBH as you were checking for synchro wear . . .

The weather's warm - the Chavscort always tries to kill me when it's warm . . . . . whatever issues it's got is amplified in warm/hot conditions.

I was just thinking about that rear gearbox mount access

I once replaced the friction plate in a Triumph Spitire and the release plate looked fine.
Two weeks later the release plate cracked and it took me another 2 days to get the box out and another 2 days to get the bitch back in again
I saved about £15 the first time

Roadkill

I'll take the risk . . . it looked pretty good last time so . . .

Besides I'll be a pro at dropping that transmission out soon.
