Seems Bosch are really pushing these now :

The wiper features a spring-loaded rail incorporating a steel bar that has been specially constructed to press the blade to your screen. The curve of the rail is matched precisely to the design of the glass, which means it gives a much cleaner sweep. Bosch claims that spring-loading will distribute contact pressure evenly along the length of the blade, significantly cutting wear.

Vauxhall were fitting them onto the new Astra because they are cheaper to buy and are surposed to work better. After six months customer feedback ( i.e they are crap ) they have gone back to the traditional design.
You have been warned !

Retail they are almost half as much again against standard blades

We have these on a company '06 VW Passat that I sometimes get to pootle around in.  I thought they were pretty good and looked better when static compaired to the standard type.

1968 VW T2 Bay Bus (currently being restored and upgraded)
1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ (modern classic daily driver)

They come on BMW's as standard now too.
