there is a lot of underground stuff at Bedford autodrome in thurliegh. one of the old buildings there was given planning permission to be rebuilt as a hotel, but it never happened, and got used as a store room instead..

i was able on a few occasions to have a good wander round, many rooms had false floors, and there was a network of tunnels there, but they had been concreted in.

the whole building was a radar and coms center, but much experimental work was carried out there, and several dishes and antennas remain to this day - the site itself could be a big tourist attraction if it weren't a race track..
