Just had a play in the bosses Lexus IS 220d (he's got it for 24hr test drive)

very nice

400Nm torque from a 2L diesel and soooo many toys.

Even cools your arse down.

175bhp & 295 ft lbs which is respectable but £27,800 for the SE there having a laugh

0-60mph is.........10.0 seconds , BMW 320d does it in 8.1

Would be nearer 8secs if they shed half the Jappo gadgetry.

My Audi does the sprint in 10 and it sounds like a manic Ford Transit.

I remember going to look at the IS200 when it first came out, I had my 9000 Turbo at the time. Took it for a test drive but yorn way to slow compared to the SAAB. 9 secs to 7.3 in the SAAB so i decided against the £20k purchase

The part ex value of a Saab 9000 would have struggled to cover the cost of floormats though, no?

This was the first year the IS200 came out, mine if i had proceded with the purchase would have been the first in oxfordshire. The SAAB was fully spec'd out
