I know at least a couple of you have wiring diagrams for the 4th gen, so hopefully you'll be able to answer these questions for me:

Dual fans - which is the primary/secondary - the blue or brown?

Interior mirror with map lights - there are 3 wires.  One is obvously earth (black), one would be positive (which one?) but what is the other?  (One is orange, one is white) The only thought I have is that they are independant positives, one for each light, but don't want to fry something it's its wrong.

Fans:

Primary Low Speed = Dark Green
Secondary High Speed = Dark Blue

Rear View Mirror:

Live feed = Orange
Ground = Black
Door/Courtesy switch = White

Thanks, glad I asked about the mirror.  I never guessed about the door switches.

door switches

That has a diode between the mirror and the switches so courtesy light stays on for a while.  If you are gonna use it then you need to splice in before that or the lights will stay on....I think

Mmm, looks like I may need to bench test it before fitting.

If I understand what you are saying, the diode would keep the lights on for a while after closing the door?    If so, if the diodes aren't there I would expect the light to go straight out, as per the current interior light??

Any clever sparky's able to contribute?

So what's the diode for? Do I need it?
Or has Rob mis-interpreted it and it's a timer?

The diodes are indstalled to stop spikes on alram systems usualy

It says its an isolation diode

Fair do's.  That does sound like it could be something to do with an alarm system.
