TBH i have limited sympathy, not so much for the poor sod loosing his job on the production line, but for the fat cats and bean counters who ruined detroit 10 - 15 years ago.

their penny pinching, corner cutting and greed got domestic American cars such a bad name for abysmal quality they actually turned their core market (the domestic one!) against them, they failed to realise people wouldn't simply 'buy american' if the quality was so poor..


hmmmmm..... sounds almost like the british motorcycle  domestic applience car industry.

this all smells a lot like British leyland c. 1976

you simply cant produce carp and expect people to buy it, when imported goods of a superior quality are available for only very slightly more.
