It would seem that Opel is going to split from GM and Germans will shut every plant in Europe before they shut a German one
Can't see there being any space for little Vauxhall in the new line up

It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

The official line is business as normal and that Vauxhall is a brand valued by Opel. Just like GM valued Saab ?

The best guess on plant closures currently is ( in closure order ) :

Ellesmere Port.
Antwerp.
Luton.
Zaragoza.

Fieldy

so we will see Opel over here now? or nothing?

Quoting: Fieldy

Only the Astra & Vivaro are made in the UK and both have other plants making the same vehicle in Europe. So the customer won't notice any difference.
It's easier & cheaper to get rid of UK workers and the current Euro rate hasn't helped

HardRockCamaro

But wouldn't the exchange rate make it cheaper to make the stuff here and ship it over there?

Yes but nearly all the parts are brought in from Europe

Our parts costs have nearly doubled

Cunning Plan
