It's been a busy day for the yet to be launched 5th Gen Camaro

First of all the official fuel consumption figures have been released :

The V6 gets 18 MPG city, 29 MPG highway. The V8 gets 16 city, 24 highway.

Just what GM needs

Oh in case your wondering the Mustang gets :

V8 (GT): 16 MPG City, 24 MPG Hwy

V6: 18 MPG City, 26 MPG Hwy

and the Dodge Challenger :

V8 (SRT8): 13 MPG City, 18 MPG Hwy

V6: 17 MPG City, 25 MPG Hwy

And secondly ( my English Teacher used to slap me for starting a sentence with "and"  ) the final production version has officially lapped the Nurburgring in 8 mins & 19 secs

Compared to other GM cars :

Pontiac G8 GXP( aka Vauxhall VXR8 ) Around The Ring In: 8:30.

Cadillac CTS-V Around The Ring In: 7:59.

Corvette ZR1 Around The Ring In: 7:26

The V6 gets 21.5 MPG city, 34.7 MPG highway. The V8 gets 19.1 city, 28.7 highway

Corrected to UK gallons...

HardRockCamaro

Erm, the fuel economy figures are excellent considering it's better than the its rival the Mustang?  While having a bigger more powerful engine too?

Incursus

My V6 Mustang does about the same as the V8 if I drive carefully...thats progress for you

Roadkill

Although it's not released yet I notice that Jegs are already selling new headers for them !

Talk about jumping the gun !

FUBAR

Comfortably passes the 3 Colour rule... although clear side markers would be a must.
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

And the last four columns in the V6 table are four-pots !

HardRockCamaro

Interesting that spec and performance wise the SS is almost identical to the Challenger but a full $10,000 or 25% cheaper...

That 4 pot turbo Cobalt SS doesn't half haul arse though...

They should sell that over here as a cheapish (17k?) hot hatch to add some coolness to the Chevy brand.

Was thinking the same. Like the Neon R/T (hopefully my next car) it'd be a pretty mean car to have over here. Would stick it to the ricer that think yanks can only go in straight lines..
