When we had all the frost and snow the council didn't grit any of the side roads in Luton, on a couple of days it wasn't possible to get up or down our road

On Monday there was a slight frost and they gritted our road, left for the gym this morning and the road had been gritted again and the temp was 6c

Have they suddenly got too much grit

I was going to try and leave work early tonight before 6pm and give the bike a run but ain't taking it out in the grit

Roadkill

Hahaha, Luton Council crack me up - I'm sure they do it just to wind you up.

I wish I was making it up, but it was that thick I nearly fell off my push bike

Happened to mention the gritting issue to one of bikers in finance

He said it's probably down to end of year council budgets with today being the 1st April
Basically if they don't use it, they don't get the money in next years budget,
sounds stupid enough for Luton Borough Council

HardRockCamaro

Exactly.

If they don't use all their grit this year they get less grit next year...

Big Mouse

Sadly many government offices work like that including - bizarrely - the Police forces across the UK.
