22 Years old, just stepped down from my job position due to un-interest within the retail sector.

What do i do next? Any suggestions? 2 years of sound engineering behind me, 3 years of retail where i stepped up from sales assistant to management within 2 years.

But all i know is i like working with people, hate admin and need to keep a roof over my young families heads....

Indeed, I think I would have lined up something else before quitting, especially if I had a family to look after....

I have left the duty manager role, demoted myself to sales assistant until something else comes up. Alot less hassle for not a lot lost so far. Gives me the scope to look elsewhere.

you could approach theatres or music venues, see if they're looking for sound engineers.

Good idea mate.

I'm handing my notice in at work tomorrow, I believe it's a 4 week deal. On my 2 days of from there I have recieved 2 phone calls, 1 voicemail and 8 e-mails to my personal account, all regarding non urgent, 'could've waited till I was next in' matters.

+ I'm getting fatter by the day working in the enviroment i'm in, so i'm off to do digging for a while.... If there's no work, i'll do the temping.

Used to do it in Plymouth, I loved it. Worked when I wanted to on ok money.

Yeah like Fraud Investigation... thats what i've ended up doing after 'leaving' 8 years of working as a finance assistant for Milton Kyenes Council.  And TBH its the most enjoyable job i've ever done.

Well speaking as someone who has "dared" to do it twice, the first time it took me nearly four years to get out of a hell hole run by Adolf Hitler

The 2nd time I completely changed direction and enjoyed it, but that came to end in the 91/92 recession

All I'm saying is look before you leap
