What do you need to do on it?

It's my old mans 1991 RS. Brought it to Billing for the Summer Nats, it's not liking the cold and wet, needs to be covered up or stored as the seals just aren't sealing the t-top anymore.

On the mondy, I want to flush the PAS fluid, possibly if it's not too hard to change, the accessories belt or tighten it, flush the screen washer bottle and replace some of it's piping. Remove and de-grot the intercooler, could be fun as the only recommended way I've been told to do this, is to flush it with petrol... Petrol in a diesel engine!! remove clean and replace with new the pollen filter. Remove and replace the glow plugs, remove the battery and give it a good charge. These cold mornings are not doing it any favours.

Anything planned on yours?

it's been pretty neglected by my old lady, I'm just keeping it on the road, it's a great car though. You can keep all those 'feels like a german car' motors, would rather have the character of this any day.

As of today, I didn't change the power steering fluid as I think I'll have to invest in a pump thing that FB got. Had a look at the hoses going to the cooler which seems the best way of draining it and thought better of trying to remove them. Did buy a top up bottle as I'm a lil low.

Did the pollen filter which was seriously rotten and not a good sight.

Ive got the smaller one:

Not quite as good as FB's I guess - it will deffiantly be slower. Takes a good 30-40 mins to drain ALL oil from the sump through the dip-stick tube - but it doesn't really matter if you are going around the car doing other things..

Well worth getting though, stops you having to take off that dam lower engine cover!

I think thats a purchase that! Cheers for the link.

I'm slightly worried, as I swear I checked the level on the steering fluid about 6 months ago and it was fine. Now its a good 1/4 inch below minimum, could mean I have a leak (not uncommon, and rather expensive). Nevertheless, it could be the reason for sqeaking belt on full lock. Couldn't see good enough once I got home to top up the tank.

Apparently on the TD model to replace the sump gasket you have to remove the bloody flywheel as it fouls on removal. Find it hard to believe, but one of the guys on MEG was looking at doing it and that came up.

Would like to say I removed mine (adds HP you know ) but a dead badger did that for me, left it half way down the A40, along with its head.
