Holy **** that's scary!

I always said Lexus were just Toyotas with leather seats...

Andy

That is mental! What the feck is up with that.

Roadkill

I've read some bulletins on TIS ( I work for toyota) relating to this concern it's because the ecu is trying to find center on the rack and the steering angle sensor does not see it.

Although another post after the Lexus had been "repaired" say's

"Had the car back for about a week and it started happening again. Going into Lexus today to speak with them again"

Andy

Read something about it being to do with aftermarket HID lights and a power surge taking our a sensor.

What happened to power steering being run off a belt? Whats with all this electric steering, surely that's just more loading on the alternator.

HardRockCamaro

I'm assuming the self park feature has something to do with it as in order to park the system has to be able to turn the wheel itself as opposed to just provide assistance...

The first pictures are out of the Toyota " "precision-machined steel reinforcements " that are used to fix recalled Toyota's throttle pedals

Electric Power steering is alot more power efficient than hydraulic as it only loads the engine when making a turn where as belt driven hyraulic loads the engine all the time.
