Am wanting to pick up a vid camera before my baby arrives.

I know quality does vary, even between HD camcorders, but this one matches my criteria, internal memory (don't need alot) and HD.... Is it any good though?

Cunning Plan

1968 VW T2 Bay Bus (currently being restored and upgraded)
1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ (modern classic daily driver)

Thanks for the link, none of the prices seem to touch the Maplin camcorder....

The sort of quality you'll get from a camcorder like that will be on par with a normal digital stills camera (or maybe even just a good mobile phone).

If you want anything decent and HD then you have to pay >£500.

A good SD camcorder would be better than a cheap "HD" camcorder, and for not much more than £200.

I am actually really impressed, I ended up buying it yesterday and if I could show you the vid I got of my dogs, It is very surprising for the money IMO

It isn't top top HD or anything, but we only wanted something to vid the first time the son holds the new baby soon etc, nothing crazy fast or detailed

I have a Toshiba Camileo P30 which is 1080p HD and gives an awesome picture as long as there is good light.  For best results use a tripod.
