Hell just the time it takes IE to load is enough for me to not use it.

... really?  I click the icon, and its open...
No problems with IE personally.
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

I tried using Opera again last night, I find it slow.....

The "official" speed test for browsers tends to be based on running the ACID 3 test.
ACID 3 tests javascript compatibility and performance as this is considered important these days as all these new online apps use javascript as their main language.

The first browser to score a perfect 100/100 score on compatibility was Safari 4.

Last I read (which was a few months ago to be fair) Safari 4 was also the fastest:

Bear in mind these tests are all done on PC's, and you may find some difference between Mac and PC versions of apps (eg I find the Mac version of iTunes runs much better, whereas I find the Windows version of Excel to be more stable).

Regardless, be it Opera, Chrome, Firefox or Safari, just use whichever you prefer.  Just don't use IE as it's a security disaster and doesn't render web pages to standard.  Not even close.

If youre on windows, def, if mac, not yet

Chrome 'Beta' has now been replaced, finally, with Chrome 'stable' on the Mac.... I am using it now, a little faster again than the Beta option too so far.

Def my fave browser of them all

Cunning Plan

I use all of them for work, but I choose to use Chrome on mac for 'my' stuff. It is very good - light and quick.

The best thing is the 'sync' option for bookmarks - excellent if you use several computers and want the same bookmarks on each..

internet explorer at work, safari at home.

i.e is sooooooooooooooo slow. i once died waiting for it..

I.E is what is on at my wifes work, it was so slow in loading Google Mail (Crashed twice), I actually downloaded chrome while waiting.

Chrome works spot on even on their old systems......

Never had any problems in the last three years after junking IE

firefox is the way forward for PC's, although i am hearing good things about google chrome.

I really cant see  any reason for using I.E. the only reason we use it at work is because thats what our system administrators insist on, and we aren't allowed to download other programs (viruses are a real threat, we deal with high value accounts)
