Am considering cycling to work but it's a bit of a distance . . . . I just want to try it out for a few days to give it a go and find a decent route before actually buying a bike.

Titsy

Shouldn't be to bad from your, the worst bit will be up the hill from the V4 to the V5, but even that's not that bad...

I'm sure Chris would lend you his for a couple of days, (mine is borrowed so I don't want to lend it really). I do have another that you could have to keep for beer tokens, it does need new tyres and tubes though...

FUBAR

From the back of where you work can you get through to the parkland paths that run behind your building?

If you can from yours I'd go round Furzton lake & pas the bowl, follow Watling street for a bit then try to cut though past the Old Beams to the teardrop lakes, then under the A5 & through the parks to the back of where you work.

That is assuming I've identified your building in Bradwell Abbey correctly from google maps based on the 1 time we popped to your work...

Apart from anything else in the summer this will be a really nice route to/from work
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

Think I've got a route sorted - a guy here used to cycle from the Shenley's somewhere so close enough.

Titsy can you prod Chris - see if I can borrow his for a couple of days ?

Big Mouse

I've got a bike you could borrow; its a cheap mountain bike, nothing special and only one working brake but everything else is ok

Incursus

Yeah you can borrow it though I warn you the gears are pretty knackered.

I used to do from yours to Wymbush.  Worst bit was past the lake in winter

Update on Cycling . . .

Have now been cycling in for just over a week.

Am still not sure if it's for me (I really enjoy the motorbike) but I have lost nearly two kilos in that week !!

Better start munching the chocolate or I'll be technically under weight in a month !
