Last week the Camaro started squeaking again
The first time it happened a few years ago, I couldn't find out the cause

I even had Management bounce the back of the car up and down and although you could hear a loud squeak, it was impossible to find out the cause.
After taking the rear shocks off and checking all the suspension mountings, I eventually found out it was the rear rubber anti roll bar bushes

So I knew exactly where to go this afternoon

Only took 20 minutes and the squeak is gone

Whilst under the old Gal I took the opportunity give the exhaust system a bit of

Everyone polishes the inside of the exhaust right

Must be two years since I last did it, the roll bar bushes are rubber not neoprene which are renown for squeaking

A 10mm patch of rubber just sticks to the roll bar making bush squeak very loudly inside the bracket

Andy

Would you consider poly bushes? Surely they'd last better/squeak less?

Poly will probably squeak just as much, I know my poly suspension does (and it's annoying me now)

You can get greasable roll bar mounts, with grease nipples attached to make maintenance easier.

Cunning Plan

Yah, Poly bushes are hated in the VW scene for squeeking. The word is OEM bushes..

1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ (modern classic daily driver)

I put OEM bushes on my Camaro, and it was one of the best jobs I did for it. I have a poly top engine mount on the alfa, and it does transmit a lot more noise, so it will eventually be changed for a rubber one..

unless handling is you're all, run away from poly.
