I need 4 stainless L shaped brackets, 150mm wide with a 50mm ledge for want of a better word. Anyone able to help me? These are going to be buried under soil for the lifetime so need something that won't degrade

sounds like you need a few off cuts of 50x50x4 304 (4307) angle.. no point going any higher grade than that, 316 (4404) would just be an un necessary expense.

try any fabrication shop...

I'll have a look through our scrap pile see if there's anything there, I think we had some stainless angle in a while ago, whether there is anything left though.

Is there no alternative like m/s hammerited or that ?

I hadn't even thought of that, i've got a tin of hammerite in t'garage

In all honestly, a bit of 5mm (or larger) bit of m/s angle would last quite a while in the ground naturally anyway. Plenty of RSJ's buried as footings and the like, they only have red 'never dry' paint on them.

Btw, couldn't find anything in our shop, have some 70mm x 5mm 316 bar, but I'm fooked if I can get that out the back door sorry!

no problem mate, hadn't really given it much thought before I posted, looking for the easy option rather than engaging brain

sorted now, got a piece of clean ally angle and given it a couple of coats of hammerite
