Tell me about A4 estates... ArtB?

Hi guys.

In the market for a diesel estate load wagon.

I will probably end up with a Mondeo but would like to look at my options.

What are the A4 estates like to work on, bills wise? Parts prices? Etc.

My Bro had the V6 and it was ludacris money to fix, are the straight 4's ok though?

Bare in mind they simply aren't in the same league (capacity-wise) as the Mondeo's.
My Guv'nor has an '06 A4 estate and it's absolutely tiny in the back.

love my 5 cyl tdi A6...186k 50 mpg..

not sure on the a4 , id imagine there pretty good....
avoid any v6 stuff,
the dwesils get good mpg

ill prob have a 1.9 tdi a6/a4 or mondy tdi next,
drove my mates mondy today great cars for the money

VAG vehicles will hold their value better than Fords, but of-corse the purchase price will be higher, for a higher mileage and not as well spec'd car as the equivalent Ford.

Ford Vs VAG Diesels engines, I would say they are about the same, the VAG just squeezes infront with slightly better MPG. Ford suspension components will not be as good quality as VAG though (speaking mostly for the MK2, the MK3 may be greatly improved).

So, No doubt I will end up with a Mondeo TBH, But the A4's are smaller? Never knew... Might look at the A6...
