With the new budget it has been announced that from the 1st April 2014,

cars manufactured before 1st January 1974 will be exempt from paying tax raising it by a year.

this may be the start of free road tax for 40 yr old cars...

One good thing to come from the budget today I suppose

Token gesture isn't it, all the Breweries have still put their prices up this year anyway so the only people who will actually benefit from that 'drop' are the Breweries themselves.  The Pubs will still put prices up by 5-10p a pint.

Apart from Burgess Brewery in Northampton, they don't get any benefit.

I wonder if I can keep mine going until it hits 40?

its been a bit quiet here on the brewing front recently...
its been a bit too nippley to boil stuff up outside..

but its gave me time to build an enclosure for my boiler...
here it is mocked up..it needs a few tweaks but should allow it to heat up a lot quicker

I also knocked up a heated fermenting cabinet,

a really good addition for regulated temperature fermenting,[different yeasts like their own temps.]

its on wheels too...

the top lifts,

heated by a 60w lamp fitted into a large tin can....yee ha...

controlled via a digital temp controller ..

this enables a constant temperature  for reliable all year brewing..

doubles up as kitchen storage when not in use,

due to my neighbor refurbing his kitchen....total cost £30...
