Its based on knowledge of your your subtle / complimentary modifications that my "spray it Black" (assuming Gloss) comment was actually a serious suggestion, IMO it would not detract anything from the car, would remove one of GM's "production flaws" with the car which you mentioned above and in all honesty eveyone would understand why you've done it because of the above.

It's your call (obviously) but IMO I think doing so would only benefit the car.

In my defence firstly you don't want two resin paint anywhere near the handbrake mechanism and secondly even if you lie under the car you cant see the back of the calipers.
They are hidden by the trailing suspension arm and shock absorber. The only way to see them is to look over the top the top of the axel as shown in the photo
