I also have a cr*p cat that came off my Fiero - would that be worth something too?

Apparently there's trace amounts of precious metals in them.  

Prices vary with the size and quality but I've known of cars being rolled onto their sides just so the cats can be stolen from them !

I'd suggest giving your local (registered) metal recycle centre a call.
