Being based on the Mondeo mean it has a fab chassis and you can have it as awd (*apart from the diesel).
I was looking at the 2.2 Diesel Sport Premium.

Thats the one I drove,  as you say nought wrong with the chassis, engine etc just the quality of the interior i didn't like.  The switch gear is shocking they look and feel cheap, shame really cos, except for the the nasty rubber band tyres on this particular one, she drove very nicely.

I'm sure the X-Type is a decent all around car, but once you've had 5 years of Audi interiors, anything else seems Korean in comparison!

At the end of the day it's you sat inside the car, and everyone else looking at the outside, so interiors do matter (except in yanks, they don't count of course!)
