Because you can't buy a new PC without a 64bit processor now, as you say, whats the point.  I'm not bothered about upgrading windows, XP does its job, Its the fact that I want to upgrade to a PCI-Express motherboard to run the GFX cards I want and to change the mobo basically means I may as well upgrade the whole machine.

I've had a 64bit system fo 2 years now, but no 64bit OS  

My next upgrade will almost definatly be a gaming notebook, probably a Rock one

I definately still want to stick with a Desktop system, but an upgrade to a flat panel monitor would be essential.
