After looking at Parcel Forces' website, trying to find out how much (potentially) it would be to ship my caddies' engine TO the U.S, I've discovered that the pallet service is only available to account holders . . . . ie. companies.

So.

Anyone know how much it would be to get it over there ?

and

Who's the best people to use ?

I wouldnt use parcel shite for anything, contact BAX global or EGL as these are proper freight forwarders. Our US distributor ships with Signet who are in brackley conviniently you could try calling them on 0870 7706866 contact is john bowerman from memory he pays about $2 per pound.

Okkies . . . I'll give them a call . . .

Your probably going to need to get it invoiced through your work as very few freight forwarders will deal with private individuals

Surely it's got to be cheaper to buy a finished engine over there and ship it over than it is to send your engine there, do whatever needs doing and shipping it back again?

Not do able if you want numbers matching mate

Jamieg285

Surely matching numbers only really matters if/when he wants to sell?

Keep the original engine, and run whatever takes the fancy in the meantime.  If the 'replacement' engine costs enough, it would be worth keeping and transferring to the next vehicle anyway.

I reckon you could ship it to the usa for about £300

Haven't had time to check today, yet . . . . going on the last auction for that 390ci - it went for well over £400 . . . . . Hence this gives me a potential budget for shipping mine TO the US.

Plus, I need to check, but can they charge me Tax and Duty if it's already mine ?
ie. if there's proof that I sent that to the states . . that's proof that I didn't buy it in the states, hence vat shouldn't be chargable.

Of course there'll be a loophole ensuring I have t pay either way.

Have you checked for export duty

55starchief

Unlikley that there wiould be export duty and taht would be payable buy th recipient, as for duty when it comes back you would only pay duty on any new parts that you had installed plus any work charged
