Sadly you are probably correct, but what's more stupid is it's totally bollox.

Tornado's have been happening here for tens's of thousands of years.

In fact, Britain has the highest number of reported tornado's per year for the area.

Even more than the US, although as the US is bigger they actually have far more tornado's in total.

You are correct there sir.

However if you compare the UK to a state such as Oklahoma the frequency would be far higher than here. Plus the severity of tornadoes in the Great Plains is waaaay higher.

The tornados we have here are pretty pathetic. Most wouldn't knock your hat off, as they rarely touch ground and remain funnel clouds.

I've always fancied going storm chasing in Tornado Alley....

....in a Corvette Z06!

.....and the highest frequency of them in central eastern England (where I live!) due to cool prevailing westerley winds mixing with warm air blowing in off the continent in summer.

Tornados at this time of year are rare anywhere.

I saw one once . . . was very cool - Albeit, brief

Would love to go and see "proper" ones.

Same as, although I thought a quad cab 4x4 Dodge Ram with a tweaked Cummins diesel engine would make a safer bet.
