aah ok, in the bar, took a min to realise what you ment then.  Cheers m8, mental note for me:

1. Remind Dean
2. Buy replacement Parts...

One thing I will say about those springs, and I think Dean said it elsewhere, they are very strong.

I had a similar (OK the same but rusty ) on mine, and it made the pedal way to stiff to give decent control.

I bodged mine by adding a keyring into the spring linkage so that it wasn't spread over such a big distance. Still not perfect, but better than 'stock'.

FUBAR

Aah ok Jamie, cheers, i'll give it a go though, its got to be better than a weak spring, might end up getting a different one if I find it unbearable.

yeah, dont double up the springs, just use the new one in place of the old..

Roadkill

As I'd mentioned before - the kit comprises of two springs . . . . together they're way to OTT.

As one it's O.K.

They are doubled up for a reason you know, one I hope you never have to find out about.

FUBAR

Incase it snaps? in which case... well we know what happens then...

Ah, the joys of having a clutch.

I Check the condition of mine regularly.

The pontiac has no cable its all done with rods so there is no return spring

dont forget the carb has one by default, and there should be a second one going to the throttle cable bracket. as is always the case, this was good enough from the factory, so its good enough now..

if you need 3 springs, something is binding somewhere..

the factory spring gets weak, so using one of the two mr gasket springs to replace it (rather than in adittion to) brings the throttle setup back to stock..

FUBAR

Well Both are on there now & its fine, I quite like the firmer pedal TBH, but i'll update on that after driving 100 miles with it tomorrow...

see how it goes mate, some people like a heavier throttle, some dont....

all down to personal preferance.
