FUBAR

there was never actualy anything wrong with the lada, even in 97 they still retailed for 3 grand on the road, they were rugged and reliable, with a big boot and room for 5 adults..

yes they were crude and agricultural, but hey, what do you expect when you could buy 13 of them for the price of a merc E320

much the same as the skoda, my estelle was great even with the magic gear stick that would flop around when driving, it was kinda like the lottery having to predict which gear you might actually get

FUBAR

Can I just point out if nobody guessed that last post of "mine" was actually PhilO...

East German, so just qualifies as eastern bloc... it was from behind the iron curtain..

My dad used to work in the Lada dealer in Dunstable.  He said it wasn't un-known for cars to arrive with the rear axle on upside down!!

End result -   1 forward gear and 4 reverse
