might be worth calling them up. I was looking at it for when i dum 6pot calipers on the front of the 55 as i dont think my power brakes will have enough to push 12 pistons

Would be worth a call at that!

Although could you not get a power brake system for yours? when i got the starchief it had manual brakes so i bought the power master cylinder

Good question. I don't recall though if power brakes were available in Buicks in 1951 as me brain is tired at the mo. Time to do some research me thinks.

Pontiac didnt have power until 53

Just now checked my service manual and no mention of power brakes. According to the Standard Catalog of Buick 3rd Edition, power brakes were introduced in 1953.

yup thats what my pontiac master parts ctalog lists, being GM i guess they all got the power option in 53

So if this new pressure multiplier works similar to a power booster it would be easier to fit it than it would be to adapt a 1953 system don't you think???

55starchief

Yeah its a small compact unit.

The power brakes had a vacuum cylinder aswell so you would need to hide that as well.
Im probably going to have to get an electric vacuum pump as i dont think my motor will have enough vacuum on idle

sixpack2639

What about adding a vacuum canister?? You could hide it down underneath in the frame like the '59's had.

55starchief

Yeah mine has a canister already, but my motor has a real radical cam. I guess i will see how it is when it all gets put back together

Looking at that booster it says each aplication is different so i guess they build them custom
