How big a standard Lego brick is  - without googling it ?

Things always seem bigger when you were smaller . . and as I was bored, I got the idea to pass the time.

Just to clarify the standard is the 4x2 "peg" one.

As it's a European toy, guesses in millimetres, please.

Amey

F Body

An inch and a half long times half inch wide ( without cheating becuase all the Leggo is in the loft ).

Allanv

FUBAR

9.5mm x 19mm x 6.5mm  (or in other words 3/8" x 3/4" x 1/4")

WxLxH (not including the pegs) seen as lego is too old to be originally metric it must have been based on imperial measurements originally I reckon
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

My guess was 34 x 17 x 12

That was holding up my finger and thumb and measuring between with a ruler !

Correct !

Titsy

I woud have said 15 x 30 x 10...

I've now found the official sizes but I'll give this a little longer . . .

HardRockCamaro

24(l) x 12(w) x 12(h)

That's my guess.

Jamieg285

Allowing for conversion to metric ( I agree with Fub's - lego = pre-metric)

22(l) x 11 (x) x 7 (h)

According to http://www.handels.gu.se/epc/archive/00004453/01/200544.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">http://www.handels.gu.se/epc/archive/00004453/01/200544.pdf (page 12)

The size is 32mm x 16mm x 9.5mm high (without the pegs I'd say).

F Body

Quoting: F Body
An inch and a half long times half inch wide

Which equals = 38.1mm x 12.7mm

Slightly to long but not wide enough ( Oh ah Vicar )

its going to be metric... it was invented in denmark, and i believe the metric system has been there over well 100 years..
