My Mechanic managed to finish the service on the Camaro today
Last job was the rear diff oil :

Don't need much :



Dam why do they have to make the plug so hard to get at :



This won't hurt much :



Finally re-do the underseal :

I was offered the SLP 4th Gen diff cover by Jagsy brand new but half price, it has the drain hole and level plug, but because it's bigger to allow more oil and aid cooling, it requires taking a grinder to the diff casing
Had a look at the grinding instructions and it was way complicated, might not be so difficult if you have the diff on the bench, but under the car is a different matter

My Summit was a straight bolt-on.

The grinding is required either side of the bevel gear at the bottom to allow the oil to sump into the new cover, this in turn additionally cools the oil and with the greater oil quantity also helps cools the oil ( aledgely )
