the Subaru looks better than the Saab....

if it was about 14k it would make good sense as a hot hatch, but being an 'impreza' (although a saloon suddenly morphed into a small hatch!) its likely to be more like £25k minimum

Ah the Proton Whatever which was one of Lotus's darkest hours, at the time they were owned by Proton and did all the suspension tuning on the car.
So it's only claim to fame were big side & rear badges saying " Handling by Lotus "

That Proton GTI is actually a pretty good car by all accounts...

As for the Subaru, yes it looks like very other hatch, especially pacific rim ones.  But the old Subaru was ugly.  I mean seriously, it was never a pretty car.  The standard non sporty Imprezza was never a good looking car and they just bolted on a massive spoiler and so on to make the WRX type versions which doesn't make it an attractive car.  Purposeful looking yes, nice looking, no.  And the interior was seriously low rent.  If it wasn't for the performance it would be widely derided.

I've never seen the attraction of the Imprezza so I'm giving a big "who cares" shrug about the new one.

To me Imprezza = Chav wagon and has done for some years.
