Dam that WD40 !

The handle bar mounted choke cable on the Beatch was sticking last week, so I pulled the rubber seal up and gave it a good dose of WD40.

After sitting over the weekend the choke cable won't stay out, it just glides right back in and the motor cuts out

Ah but it was, when I pushed the choke back in as the engine warmed up, it was sticking and making the engine splutter and stall

Don't have that problem now, I just have to try and hold the choke open with one hand whilst I drive and let the engine warm up

surely there should be some sort of friction at the lever ,rather than rely on the stiffness of the cable.....................oh yea its the beatch

Try a clothes peg on the cable.

I test drove a Mini with that option fitted once.

thats the way it was done on my V8 cortina.. 2 pegs for the first mile, then 1 peg for the next, then fully in thereafter.

Yes came across that problem this morning, it needed two and a half pegs to start with, but was quite happy with two pegs once I got going
