Finally fixed the oil leak this weekend.

After wasting 2 days and a load of money on unnecessary tools and seals changing the crank seal (twice) it was actually coming out of the front mounting holes.

All I needed was a single bolt (and a little RTV).

Don't know whether to say well done or you muppet !!!

Good news, though.

How was I to know?  The bolt hadn't been there since I got the car. It only really leaks when the pressure builds up.  Everyone I asked said it sounded like the crank seal (even the bloke I bought it from said that was the problem)

Still, it's sorted now, so I don't care

Does seem an odd cause . . . .

Mounting holes for what?

Nice one tho Jamie, I'm trying to figure out whether or not my oil leak has been fixed atm...

No idea, I've never seen anything mounted there.  The only thing I can think of is a low mounted Alt.

Alternative P/S (pump) / Air con (???) location ?

Either way, odd.

Suppose it could be air con.  I have no idea where it would be mounted, as none of the SBC's I've had have had it fitted.
