I've ordered my headliner kit from Hawks and its being sent to a friend who's going to put it into one of his car containers.

Does the kit come with all the hardware needed to install it ? and was it a difficlut job ?

FUBAR

The headliner is basically held up but all the trim plastics in the car and the dome light fitting (believe it or not) so there isn't really any hardware needed.

You need to re-use your existing visor mounts but apart from that its an ok job, you might need to cut some plastic off the holes a bit to make them fit your visor mounting points, and maybe the seatbelt holes (i didn't)

You'll also need some velcro to fit the new Sail Panels as the replacement ones don't have the hooks on them like the stock ones do (which is a bit gay)

This is if they don;t line up exactly with the screw holes, i used a dremel to cut the backing plastic in situ literally just enough to get the screws in, also leaving the material intact so you don;t see any gaps

cheers pal.

cant believe the bloody sail panels are held up by velcro does it hold it okay ?

The mounting points on my 'A' pillar trim are knackered so it looks like i'm going to need a new one of them.

Anyone know of anyone breaking a hardtop camaro ??

FUBAR

well, the stock sail panels have metal hooks attached to the backing card, the new ones, while nice... don't which I was a bit annoyed about.

At the moment I still have the stock ones in so i'll let you know about the velcro later

Have you got the standard speakers behind them ? I fancy getting some better ones but am not sure what size to get

FUBAR

I've got JBL 6x9s.  the dash speakers are 6x4s (also JBL)

Is that a standard fit then. So if i brought the sizes you mention they will bolt straight in ?

FUBAR

Yeah thats the size of the stock speakers.  Indeed they will bolt straight in and you shouldn't have any problems with clearances for the Magnets.  The stock front speakers are fairly shallow but the JBL 6x4s fit in fine. and there's a god damn cavern behind the rear ones so no probs there.

You may need to re-terminate the wires depending on whats in there already, but afaik all the modern stuff is standardised so thats not a problem really.

I basically have these up front:

and these in back:

Atm they are not setup because the amp thats in the boot has a blown channel and it has never been my prioity to fix it (got the V8 to listen too )  however they were swapped out of my old camaro when i sold it and worked really well in there, even with all the dodgy wiring that car had!
